Ever since childhood, she longed to do something creative, having inherited a taste for materials and fabric passed down over several generations from her family. She naturally drifted towards fashion, with the female form being the central concern of her designs. Her current chapter begins in Bogotá, Colombia, upon meeting Amanda Medina, who runs two brands and her own factory. Eva desired to inject a new allure into swimwear with a collection generated from this spicy Franco-Colombian mix. After more than seven prototypes, her first swimsuit was born in 2016, a simple, understated, black one-piece with a crossed back. This first model established the DNA of Historia Natural, the brand launched by Eva in 2018. It immediately stood out due to its positioning and new concepts for fashion design and marketing. This timeless swimwear collection is defined by harmonious, clean-styled cuts in bright colors, which are given a sexy touch through an emphasized back or waistline. Collections are based on four cornerstone principles: suppleness, body, movement, and resistance. Suppleness is bestowed by fabrics chosen for their comfort and support, while it is Eva’s mission to provide pieces that perfectly fit every body type. As swimwear must be worn for movement both in and out of the water, fabrics, cuts and production methods are all utilized with this end purpose in mind. Finally, quality fabrics with UPF 50+ protection and careful production create highly resistant items built to last over time. Each piece is meticulously and responsibly designed for a changing, moving body, borrowing cuts from corsetry and activewear, and inspired by dancewear’s high-performance minimalism. Eva Falkowski travels to Bogotá each year to oversee the production of her limited-quantity collections made from locally sourced materials in a cheerful, fourperson family workshop. For Summer 2020, Collection No. 3 explores the duality of the daring and restrained sides of a woman’s personality through silhouettes inspired by 1950s lingerie, childhood and sports. It features several one-pieces, as well as open-backed or vintage-style bikinis with short-sleeved or convertible tops paired with full-coverage bottoms or shorts perfect for water sports or yoga.
