The new Lycra Beauty Cooling technology by Invista
Lycra cooling responds to the problem of shapewear discomfort due to body temperature. The secret to this innovation lies in the Coolmax fibers, they’re made using Lycra and X6300 nylon, which has a four-channel cross-section designed to wick moisture away from the body and disperse it for more efficient evaporation. Tests conducted by Invista revealed a 2-3° temperature difference between the Lycra Beauty Cooling technology and the standard nylon shapewear; all it takes is a couple of degrees for the body to notice a cooling effect. This is the first collection of commercially-available fabrics to integrate Lycra’s Cooling technology and Austria-based Willy Hermann will be the first mill in Europe to present the fabric in 2016.
Deep by Ripa, the new dimension in color choice
Maglificio Ripa, Roica by Asahi Kasei and Erca have partnered to present Deep by Ripa, a technologically advanced fabric, which offers exclusive performance in terms of color and functionality as well as in tones and nuances, intensity and refinement. Deep by Ripa gives ample choice of vibrant colors and doesn’t present any of those white or grey nuances caused by the untinted elastomer, a phenomenon which commonly occurs with polyamides, viscose, wool, cotton and silk. The fabric uses premium stretch yarns from Roica Colour Perfect family, which can be dyed in combination with all aforementioned fibres. Deep by Ripa also uses an innovative technology; Onetone by Erca; specifically aimed at optimising the process of dyeing which in combination with cellulosic fibers offers great depth of color and excellent color-fastness. Moreover, Erca is attested Bluesign along with the auxiliaries it employs for the Onetone process on the fabrics produced using Roica Colour Perfect premium stretch threads. Huit has already adopted the new innovative fabric to a range of their underwear garments.

Rhodia launches Amni Soul Eco
Rhodia, part of the Solvay group launches the world’s first biodegradable polyamide yarn. The fruit of five years of research, Amni Soul Eco is a polyamide 6.6 textile yarn, which has been developed to quickly decompose once disposed of in landfills, making the articles environmentally friendly. While other fibers take decades to decompose, it only takes about three years for Amni Soul Eco to disappear from the planet. Amni Soul offers consumers the benefits of Rhodia’s polymides – soft touch, great comfort, breathability, moisture management, easy-care, easy washing, and it is easily dyed in different colors for the industry to produce any kind of garment for every segments. Aside from being biodegradeable, it is also recyclable and the product is also Oeko-Tex (standard 100, class 1) certified. The sustainable innovation has received two awards: the Kurt Pulitzer Prize from ABIQUIM (a chemical industry representative association), and one from the American Chamber of Commerce (AMCHAM).
